Deputy Chief Operating Officer Jimmy Walby wins prestigious leadership award.
(Palm Harbor, FL) December 1, 2017 – Nationwide Title Clearing (NTC), the leading post-closing services provider for the nation’s largest financial institutions, investors and servicers, is proud to announce that Jimmy Walby, NTC’s Deputy Chief Operations Officer, was recognized in the December issue of HousingWire as part of the publication’s 2017 Vanguard Awards™ program. The awards recognize C-level and business unit executives who have become leaders in their respective fields within housing and mortgage finance.
“This year’s Vanguard Awards recognized an ever-growing segment of the mortgage
finance space. We continue to be impressed by all of the amazing applicants and
subsequent award winners. Truly, they are the most important group of individuals
operating in mortgage finance today,” said Jacob Gaffney, Editor-In-Chief of
This year’s 45 winners were carefully selected by HousingWire’s editorial board, chosen for their vital contributions to their companies and the dynamic way they are changing the industry. This is the third year that HousingWire has recognized executives in the housing finance industry for their outstanding leadership in the space.
“I want to thank the editorial board for adding me to this list of distinguished executives,” said Walby. “The nature of my job often gives me an opportunity to find solutions that improve the company’s overall delivery of services. It has become my standard practice to take the time to improve any area that is not at an optimal level of performance. There are few things more rewarding than seeing some improved activity making a significant impact on the overall health of the company.”
Walby joined the company in 2008, working in the customer service department, but worked his way up through the Finance Division and in 2010 was made Vice President of Finance. In that role, he developed systems to verify company transactions and created efficiencies across all areas of income and waste mitigation. He also designed and implemented several different critical systems for the company, which has allowed NTC to effectively manage sales and operations across all platforms and to assist the company with expansion over the last few years.
Walby was promoted to Deputy Chief Operating Officer in 2014. In that role, he implemented a quality inspection analytics team to review county requirements for document recording, a significant contributor to NTC’s sub 1% reject rates. Most recently, Walby has focused on NTC’s post-closing department. His efforts have made it possible for that line of business to grow 300% over the last year alone.
“Jimmy’s expertise and attention to detail has led to improvements in many of our most important functions,” said John Hillman, CEO of NTC and a recipient of the inaugural Vanguard Award. “He deserves this recognition. We are very fortunate to have him at NTC.”
