NTC donated over $600 worth of breakfast items to help feed Tampa Bay's hungry children this summer.
According to Feeding Tampa Bay, nearly 250,000 children go hungry every day right here in Tampa Bay. NTC partnered up with Julie Weintraub's Hands Across the Bay (HATB) for a substantial donation in order to encourage other business in the area to do the same.
In the summer time when school is out, some children go without any food at all.
"All it takes is one box per employee," said Julie Weintraub, VP of Gold and Diamond Source and founder of her namesake charity. "You go to some of these kids homes, open the fridge and they are literally empty. That's why we decided to do something about it," she said.
HATB partnered with 10 News and Feeding Tampa Bay to draw attention to this important cause and NTC was honored to be a part of their mission. The drive will continue until May 6, you can help by donating cereal, oatmeal and breakfast bars.
